Sole Searching

Sole Searching

FALL is finally here!

Well… I guess technically the calendar is telling us Fall is here but Fall weather…not so much. I should really be used to the “Maryland Fall” by now – aka, one or two weeks of Fallish weather and then either really hot or really cold – but I’m just not. So honestly, I’m going to ignore the fact that we technically don’t need to be wearing Fall booties yet and you know.. just do me! When a girls got a craving a girls got a craving – and I’m craving currently the FALL BOOTIE!

Similar to probably every other girl you’ve encountered over your lifetime, I  l o v e  Fall. From the pumpkins and leaves to the booties, sweaters and scarves, everything about it just makes me giddy. Every year I like to treat myself to a new pair (or pairs…) of boots or booties. :). As soon as August hits you start seeing Fall collections from your favorite retailers popping up and I typically rush to buy. This year I took a bit of a different approach – Arundel Mills reached out to me and reminded me of their vast shoe collection spread across a number of retailers. So I decided to team up with them and actually set an evening and go to Arundel Mills to search for my perfect Fall boot. Partially in hopes that this would keep me on track of only purchasing one pair – but making it the perfect pair.

It had been years since I had set foot in Arundel Mills mall – the mere size and honestly parking lot gave me anxiety just thinking about it. But scanning through the amount of stores that carry shoes on their online directory I simply had to check it out and give this monster of a mall a second chance.

I decided the best way to tackle my goal of find the perfect bootie or ‘sole mate’ if you will, was to orchastrate a plan; I mean this mall is literally huge. I decided to nail down three stores to visit and start there.

I started at ALDO Shoe store – Aldo has always been one of my go-tos for trendy shoes. They had a good amount of peep-toe and regular booties. I noticed the ones I was drawn to though were very similar to pairs I already have in my boot collection.

I couldn’t purchase another tan or black bootie so I continued on my way to my next shoe store.

Nine West Outlet has never really been one of those must stop stores for me but they have really stepped up their game recently.

From printed booties like these amazing floral ones to unqiue lace up booties in some of the most beautiful colors – I was rather impressed with their selection.

Yet – I still wasn’t convinced these were my perfect Fall bootie.

I decided to make my way toward Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th – it was here that I found the largest boot and bootie selection (particularly in my size which is rare since I’m between a 5 and a 6 shoe size).

Through the array of tans, blacks and creams I found it – I found THE bootie that I needed. From the beautiful light suede color to the extreme comfort that is rare in a heeled shoe, I put these Kenneth Cole booties on and didn’t want to take them off.

And that was it – I had found my sole mate for Fall – I can’t wait to transition these booties into Winter too!

Above outfit details shared below.
