Another Tuesday is here and my latest Try it Tuesday is related to the tie-up top trend.
When I first saw this trend popping up in local Baltimore boutiques and my Pinterst feed, I’ll be honest, I wasn’t a fan. I think I have a bit of a love-hate realtionship with this trend in that if done well it can look super cute – but if done “not well” it ends up looking too scandalous and shows off too much.
This past weekend Poppy and Stella in Fells Point was doing an Anniversary sale – 25% off all full price items. It was a dreary rainy day in Baltimore so I figured why not pop in and see if they had anything pretty that caught my eye (spoiler: they always do).
Browsing around I found a delicate gold bracelt that I immediately scooped up and then the top. It was a mixture of blue and purple “moody floral” as a dear friend would describe the pattern and had just a slight tie up on the top portion. I had just got done with a run so I didn’t want to try on the top but figured it was worth a shot – at 25% off, it was so cute and I could always get store credit if it ended up not fitting the way I wanted.
Later that night, after a much needed shower, I tried the top on and fell in love. It hung perfectly and the tie up portion was the perfect little detail.
Now that I took my first plunge into the tie-up top trend, I think I’m hooked. Here are a few of my other favorites if you’d like to give it a try this Tuesday…
